let it go, let it go...live and let live

"Forgiveness means giving up all hope for a better past.”
excerpt: "We have all betrayed and hurt others, just as we have knowingly or unknowingly been harmed by them.  It is inevitable in this human realm. Sometimes our betrayals are small, sometimes terrible.  Extending and receiving forgiveness is essential for redemption from our past.  To forgive does not mean we condone the misdeeds of another. We can dedicate ourselves to make sure they never happen again. But without forgiveness the world can never be released from the sorrows of the past.  Someone quipped, “Forgiveness means giving up all hope for a better past.” Forgiveness is a way to move on."

forgiveness got a bad rap or rep...

True forgiveness is unlike the forgiveness we humans like to think of as practicing.
If we can even do it wholeheartedly.
If you dream a dream at night in which terrible things happen
do you feel the need to do anything about those things
or the perpetrators when you wake up?
Didn't think so. Best thing to do is get into a clear state of Mind, asap.
btw, many of our "awake" daytime thinking fits into the category of nightmares as well.
No need to fight them. Just "wake up" and turn on the Light. That's true forgiveness.
We don't make the Light either with fabricated colors and sounds. We just remember It.

to be free...

"To be free,
shun the experiences of the senses
like poison.
Turn your attention to
forgiveness, sincerity,
kindness, simplicity, truth."

Forgiveness and Lily Tomlin

~Lily Tomlin "Forgiveness means giving up all hope for a better past." Pondering this quote by Lily Tomlin feels soooo liberating! Any thoughts to share about how you feel it.... anyone?
