mandalas on my mind of late

I've had mandalas on the mind of late...
Someone shared this painted stones photo on facebook news this morning,
and I followed up on the artist. Just looking at the photo is a meditation in itself!

Being vs becoming Being...

"The Self
is the one thing you can discover,
not by travelling miles,
but by being very still
 inside your own being
 and saying to the Supreme,
“Yes, absorb me.” "
~ Mooji

"There are no separate selves;
there is just the mass consciousness
having the notion/s of separate selves.
We already are absorbed in the Supreme Self,
but we are asleep and dreaming that we are individual selves.
We already ARE the Ocean,
but dreaming of being waves on the ocean,
or perhaps thinking we are droplets of water.
Even a droplet of water having a peaceful dream
of being a "spiritual" individual
as opposed to other droplets who are lesser evolved
 is still dreaming of separation..."

Great Light always surrounds you...

"The way is not hard, but it is very different.
2 Yours is the way of pain, of which God knows nothing.
3 That way is hard indeed, and very lonely.
4 Fear and grief are your guests,
and they go with you and abide with you on the way.
5 But the dark journey is not the way of God's Son.
6 Walk in light and do not see the dark companions,
for they are not fit companions for the Son of God,
who was created of light and in light.
7 The Great Light always surrounds you
and shines out from you.
8 How can you see the dark companions in a light such as this?
9 If you see them, it is only because you are denying the light.
10 But deny them instead, for
the light is here and the way is clear."

no imprint left behind...

"Good and bad,
happy and sad,
 all thoughts
vanish into emptiness
like the imprint of a bird
in the sky."

(no footprint or imprint left behind)
"I have come
to drag you out of yourself
and take you in my heart.
I have come
 to bring out the beauty
 you never knew you had
and lift you like a prayer
to the sky."

~ Rumi

flecks of gold falling like rain...

~Peace Pilgrim...
"All of a sudden I felt very uplifted, more uplifted than I had ever been.
I remember I knew timelessness and spacelessness and lightness.
I did not seem to be walking on the earth.
There were no people or even animals around,
but every flower, every bush, every tree seemed to wear a halo.
There was a light emanation around everything
and flecks of gold fell like slanted rain through the air.
This experience is sometimes called the illumination period."

the fingerprints of Love, with intention...

~Dr. David R. Hawkins
"There is no art without love. Art is always the making of the soul, the craft of man's touch, whether that touch is corporeal or the touch of the mind and spirit; so it has been since Neanderthal times, and so it will always be. Thus, we find that computer-generated art and even great photographs never calibrate as highly as original paintings. A most interesting kinesiologic experiment, which anyone can reduplicate, is to test the strength of a person who is looking at an original painting and then repeat the test looking at a mechanical reproduction of that painting. When a person looks at something that has been handcrafted, he goes strong; when he looks at a reproduction, he goes weak, and this is true regardless of pictorial content. An original of a disturbing subject will make the subject go stronger than a copy of a pleasant subject. Dedicated artists put love into their work, and there is great power in both the human touch and human originality"

"We put steamed rice in 3 different containers.
One container with positive words,
another container with negative words and the other one with no words.
After 11 days past…
(Left) Container with positive words: Still white rice and not much molds
(Centre) Container with negative words: Turn to be black and dark molds
(Right) Container with no words: Turn to be dark greenish molds
Basically these containers have been sealed since the start of the experiment.
No words spoken were spoken to each rice.
Only words on the containers changed each rice.
As Dr. Emoto is telling, we are 70% water
so if you always smile or use positive words,
it will affect water in your body in a positive way
but if you are always mad and use negative words,
you might get sick easily.
Let's be positive and use positive words to yourself and others."

karma is your echo in time...

"This world is like a mountain.
Your echo depends on you
If you scream good things,
the world will give it back.
If you scream bad things,
the world will give it back.
Even if someone says badly about you,
speak well about him.
Change your heart to change the world."

an owl in the tree this morning...

"Owl is ruler of the night and seer of souls. The owl is honored as the keeper of spirits who had passed from one plane to another. Often myth indicates the owl accompanying a spirit to the underworld; winging it's newly freed soul from the physical world into the realm of spirit. Bringer of wisdom, revealer of secrets and omens, intuition and clairvoyance. Brings clarity and illumination to dreams, (Moon magick). The "night eagle", seeing and hearing that which others cannot. Be aware of omens and portents for the owl brings the power to extract secrets, out of the, darkness. Native American Totem Animal for "Sagittarius". ('Lilith', who was the first wife of Adam in the Garden of Eden and in Christian lore was said to be the first witch, is often depicted as appearing in the form of a screech owl or with screech owls as familiars. The owl is also the familiar of goddess'Athena')"

out there vs. in here...

"...remember that value and attraction
are in the eye of the beholder
and are not qualities of the world itself.
What is imagined to be ‘out there’
stems from ‘in here’.
The same applies to cherished positionalities
 and seductive presumptions.
There are no temptations ‘out there’,
and their attraction diminishes
by simple refusal and renunciation."

mind wandering...

"Practitioners are distressed by wandering thoughts.
They think it is difficult to tame them.
Don't be afraid of wandering thoughts.
Do not waste your energy trying to repress them.
All you have to do is recognize them.
Do not attach to any wandering thoughts,
do not follow them,
and do not try to get rid of them.
As long as you don't string thoughts together,
wandering thoughts will depart by themselves."

- Chan Master Xuyun 虛雲老和尚

how much me is necessary?

Q. How much "me" is necessary?

take refuge in your in-breath...

"I suggest you take refuge in your in-breath,
surrender to your in-breath,
 identify with your in-breath.
Don't take refuge in anything abstract.
Take refuge in something very concrete: your in-breath.
Taking refuge like that,
your fear, anger and restlessness will disappear."

world as melodrama-mine...

" 'Now-ness' is the primordial, overreaching, all-powerful, unchangeable, and absolute requirement to experiencing. It is the essence of awareness of being and existence. It is impossible to exist anywhere at all except in the drastic, radical reality of now. This instant is all there is. One's own consciousness as Self is the only Eye by which anything can be experienced or known. The inner sense of reality is bestowed by the Self on the 'outer' surroundings, which is what makes them seem real. The sense of realness is therefore a projection of consciousness by the self, originating from the Self. One is therefore not the witness of a 'real' world; one is actually the source of its seeming reality. The world is actually entertainment. Like amusement, it is meant to be worn lightly. Heaven is within and is revealed by awareness. The world is merely an appearance. Its melodrama is an artifice of the distorted sense of perception. It leads one to think that the world is large, powerful, and permanent and that the Self is small, weak, and transitory; exactly the opposite is true."

mind is not really a ruler...

"One is not really ruled by the mind at all. What the mind reveals is an endless stream of options, all disguised as memories, fantasies, fears, concepts, etc. To get free of domination by the mind, it is only necessary to realize that its parade of subjects is merely an arbitrary cafeteria of selections wending their way across the screen of the mind.

One is not 'forced' to feel resentment by a negative memory, nor does one have to buy into a fearful thought about the future. These are only options. The mind is like a television set running its various channels for selection, and one does not have to follow any particular temptation of thought. One can fall into the temptation of feeling sorry for oneself, or angry, or worried. The secret attraction of all these options is that they offer an inner payoff or a secret satisfaction which is the source of the attraction of the mind's thoughts.

If these payoffs are refused, it will be discovered that, at all times, behind the thought screen, there is a silent, invisible, thought-free space of joy. This is an option that is always available, but to be experienced, it has to be chosen above all other tempting options."
