close the language-door and open the love-window...

"At night, I open the window
and ask the moon to come
and press its face against mine.
Breathe into me.
Close the language-door
and open the love-window.
The moon won't use the door,
only the window."

making right choices...

"To make the right choices in life,
you have to get in touch with your soul.
To do this, you need to experience solitude,
which most people are afraid of,
because in the silence
you hear the truth and know the solutions."

unconditional Love is a way you are...

"Love is never between two people.
It is what happens within you, and what happens within you
need not be enslaved to someone else. For fifteen to twenty minutes daily,
go sit with something that means nothing to you –
maybe a tree, or a pebble, or a worm or an insect.
After some time, you will find you can look upon it
with as much love as you do your wife or husband or your mother or your child.
Maybe the worm does not know this. That doesn’t matter.
If you can look at everything lovingly,
the whole world becomes beautiful in your experience.
You realize love is not something that you do;
love is the way you are."

becoming an empty page...

"Less is more."

Things accumulate.
Empty space fills up seemingly by itself.
This is probably true for many or most people.
You really have to keep after it to keep empty spaces in your house,
or your life, in general.
Some with limited space to begin with have the rule -
"when something enters the house something has to leave".
I knew of someone years ago who once a year emptied the contents of her house
onto the curb for people to come and sort through
and take what they needed or wanted.
In just a short space of time her house had filled up again
with things gifted by other people.
I'm not sure I could quite do that since my source of livelihood
springs from things I make in my home sewing room,
but the point is, I believe,
in the trust she had in the generosity of people, and the bounty of life.
Trick is, owning things but not permitting them to own you.

"A scoundrel is knowledgeable
A fool will know
But a sage is an empty page."

we are only a super micro speck...

"...the cosmos is very large.
You do not know where it begins or where it ends.
There are hundreds of billions of galaxies.
In this vast cosmos, this solar system is a tiny speck.
If the solar system disappears tomorrow, it will not even be noticed in the cosmos.
In this tiny speck of a solar system, planet earth is a micro speck.
In this micro speck of a planet, the city you live in is a super-micro speck.
In that, you are a big man!
This is a serious problem of perspective."

surrender yourself to your Self...

Put your ego in second place to achieve first place, i.e. your Real and True Nature...
What is the difference between travel, a journey and a pilgrimage?
People move from one place to another for a variety of reasons.
There are explorers who are always looking for virgin land
that they want to put their footprint on. They want to prove something.
There are travelers who are curious to see everything, so they travel.
There are tourists who just go to relax.
There are other kinds of tourists who just go to escape from their work or family.
But a pilgrim is not going for any of these purposes.
A pilgrimage is not a conquest, it is a surrender.
It is a way of getting yourself out of the way
If you do not budge, it is a way of wearing yourself out.
A process of destroying all that is limited and compulsive

how IS the master?

"Therefore the Master
acts without doing anything
and teaches without saying anything.
Things arise and she lets them come;
things disappear and she lets them go.
She has but doesn't possess,
acts but doesn't expect.
When her work is done, she forgets it.
That is why it lasts forever."

why choose a limited me structure?

"Everything that arises arises in the openness of being,
in the open space,
the infinite and borderless aware presence.
The open space of awareness is effortless happy and free.
You are eternally invited
to the celebration of your freedom and eternity.
Why choose the limited me structure?"

a dream within the dream...

Last night I had a dream where I thought I was with my neighbor
going through some of her things that she had out for the trash.
I picked out a number of things that I could not believe she was trashing,
and brought them home. Then I find out it wasn't her stuff,
but belonged to a neighbor farther down the street,
and she wanted to be paid for everything.
And her prices were higher than I would pay,
so I knew I had to pack it all up and return it.
And then, in the dream, I realized I could just wake up from the dream
and not have to do anything about the dream!
Which I did. I woke myself up, and lay there thinking about that.

The dream is highly symbolic for me. In "my waking life"
I also don't have to pick out the neighbor's trash,
or pay exorbitant prices for someone else's trash.
I can just "wake up" and say "interesting!
Thanks, but no thanks!"

everything is a probability...

"If we see a mango seed and say,
“This can produce a lot of sweetness. Let’s plant it,”
it is a probability, not a certainty.
There are no certainties in your physical existence.
Everything is only a probability.
 If you are skillful,
you can make what is probable into a reality."

karma is the memory of life...

"Karma is not about something good or bad that you did.
Karma is the memory of life."

Karma – The Memory of Life

Sadhguru: The word karma evokes different types of understanding in people’s minds. Karma means action. Action is on many different levels. There is physical, mental, emotional and energy action which we can call karma. If the action sinks deeper than these four dimensions, then we call it kriya. So both karma and kriya mean action, but karma is that kind of action which leaves a residual imprint or impact upon the system. This means the memory and chemistry of that action remains. Kriya is a type of action which imprints itself on a completely different dimension and begins to dismantle the karmic residue that has accumulated in the system.
Karma is of many kinds, many different layers and many different dimensions. The actions that your father performed are working and kicking up within you in so many different ways, not just in your situation, but in every cell in your body. Many of you may have noticed that when you were eighteen or twenty, you rebelled completely against your father or mother, but by the time you were forty or forty-five, you began to behave just like them. You speak and act like them. That is a hopeless way to live because if life is going to repeat itself, if this generation is going to behave, act, live and experience life in the same way that the previous generation did, this is a wasted generation.

happiness seeds...

"You have both seeds of happiness and unhappiness
in you, planted by your parents, your ancestors, or your friends.
When seeds of happiness manifest themselves, you feel quite happy.
But when seeds of sorrow, anger, and hatred manifest, you feel very unhappy.
The quality of our life depends on what seeds we water in our consciousness.
When you practice breathing, smiling, and looking at beautiful things around you,
you are planting seeds of beauty and happiness.
That is why we practice things like breathing in and seeing ourselves as a flower,
breathing out and feeling fresh, breathing in and seeing ourselves as a mountain,
breathing out and feeling solid like a mountain.
This practice helps us plant seeds of solidity and freshness in ourselves.
Every time we walk with calm and ease, or we smile and release the tension in us,
we are planting seeds that will strengthen our happiness.
With each happy step, we plant a happy seed."

allow yourself to fall away from the shape of your mind...

"There is a peace that does not go.
It does not want to go and it does not want to stay.
It has no place to go. It Is.
It has no appointments to be somewhere else.
Allow yourself to fall away from the shape of your mind.
Fall inside the shapeless.
But don’t ask how."

Peace Prayer Necklace

Almost all of us are born with the we/they, flight/fight default.
Inner Peace is a choice we, or the decision maker aspect of our mind, make.
We choose again and again, and again...until we no longer require assistance
in remembering and then it becomes a way of life.
If we're lucky, we'll get it in this lifetime.
No worries...let's just do our best from day to day.

is God marriage material?

carrie triffet:

"There’s nothing to accomplish or do. You already have it, and ARE it. Stop striving to be better. Stop yearning to wake up. Stop trying to escape from your perfectly imperfect circumstances. Your job is just to be. Recognize you don’t know anything about anything. Refuse to judge anything you see. Have faith that it’s all innocent. Disbelieve everything your mind tells you, and instead walk through life snuggled deeply, blindly, trustingly in God."

nobody, son of nobody...

 "Nobody, Son of Nobody"

Suppose you can recite a thousand holy
verses from memory.
What are you going to do
with your ego self, the true
mark of the heretic?
Every time your head touches
the ground in prayers, remember,
this was to teach you to
put down that load of ego
which bars you from entering
the chamber of the Beloved.
To your mind feed understanding,
to your heart, tolerance and compassion.
The simpler your life, the more meaningful.
The less you desire of the world,
the more room you will have in it
to fill with the Beloved.

~Shaikh Abu Saeed Abil Kheir

Another way of looking at it is that we all are everybody.
Then the question is, "how are we with ourselves?"
Then, living with understanding, tolerance, and compassion
make all the sense in the world.

inner freedom...

We Have Not Come here To Take Prisoners
By: Hafiz

"We have not come here to take prisoners
But to surrender ever more deeply
To freedom and joy.
We have not come into this exquisite world
to hold ourselves hostage from love.
Run my dear, From anything
That may not strengthen
Your precious budding wings,
Run like hell, my dear,
From anyone likely to put a sharp knife
Into the sacred, tender vision
Of your beautiful heart.
We have a duty to befriend
Those aspects of obedience of our house
And shout to our reason
"Oh please, oh please
come out and play."
For we have not come here to take prisoners,
Or to confine our wondrous spirits
But to experience ever and ever more deeply
our divine courage, freedom, and Light!"
